I thought there was a version of the Harbourvale Line that you can access the two stations normally?

C751B at Dalgety Bay Station on long-distance run from Edinburgh to Markinch. Take it that the train is running on internal batteries due to the absence of 3rd rail power supply.

Edinburgh to Aberdeen? That's a long route, about 2 hours 45 minutes for a full run...

(And I have my C151 hauled on this route by a Class 43 Tongue )

EDIT:
Code:
Edinburgh - Aberdeen
NXEC service train comprising a 9 coach + 2 power cars HST (Valenta) set
209km 2hr 37mins
NXEC = National Express East Coast, rail operator
HST (Valenta) = High Speed Train, aka Intercity 125 or Class 43x2 + Mk3 carriages, with a Paxman Valenta engine. Top service speed 125mph, or 205 km/h, but capable of more. World's fastest diesel train.

Haha..not really the full length from Edinburgh to Aberdeen..I made a shorter version out of the actual route to terminate at Markinch since there is a turnback crossover before that station Big Grin but what you mentioned about the Class 43 pulling the C151 sounds interesting and I'm gonna try out my own consist. Anyway the shorter (but still long considering 54 km distance) run was done in 1 hour with the C751B running at 87 km/h below its design speed of 90 at most sections.
