In sec sch i saw a pic of the SG Concept Plan 1991 which showed the NEL extending off to cover Pulau Ubin in an east-west manner from the Outward Bound School in the west until somewhere until Chek Jawa! Also, the NEL at that time was also planned to terminate at OTP instead of HBF.
My longest post in SGTrains was achieved 18 February 2011 at 03:00 PM.

Best in Simei, Jurong and some say Bukit Batok and now Mount Faber!Cool

But tat unlikely as the PGL runoff curve to PW5 Nibong, away frm P. Ubin. Unless LTA do 1 sharp curve to right to enter P Ubin.

Talking about these NEL runoffs is a little creepy I dunno know why.

I feel that the NEL has lots of wat I call "nooks & crannies". Why?

1. Rumours of hidden box tunnels for future lines under certain stations.
2. Uneasily seen passages frm the tunnel to a PG outlet. Bef. BGK station(NB) has a gd example.
3. Turnabouts beyond a station like HBF. U won't know if the line continues somewhere. Before Samuel Lee told us in a post long long ago tat there is PG intake aft HBF turnabout, I felt tis way.
4. Maybe haunted stations like Woodleigh. When I was younger I wondered if I shld make a movie of C751As mysteriously disappearing whenever passing Woodleigh.

I've got a lot more reasons but I dunno how to phrase em. But dun worry I'll post them when I sort all my facts out.

random question: to check the "license number" of a C651, C151, C151A or C751B can check the middle of the train where they connect.... how to check for NEL trains?

That's why I hate NEL trains and SMRT trains are just the best. C830 is better than C751A from my POV.

Notice that all automatic lines like the NEL and CCL have that SAME smell. When you enter the station, especially when it has recently started operation, got that smell. Put yr nose in between the cracks of the FHPSDs and the dr when the trn is 1min or so away, also got that smell. Stading in between the train and FHPSDs also got smell. Where is it coming from and it smells so good.
