Discussion on CR151 - Replacement Trains for North-South / East-West Lines

As much as i would like the C151 as it is, the government has decided it is time to change... so we really have no say.

Also... some of the KHI's conditions are really bad... So maybe its really time for them to go...

Siemens probably didn't participate after not winning any train contracts for so long... and probably due to issues with existing Siemens trains...

I feel very uncomfortable when 'CR151' or 'Q-Train' is mentioned

According to LTA's press release, the CR151 trains will enter passenger service from 2022.
The contract for CR151 will be awarded in the next quarter (which is 2Q 2018).

At this point the chances any company other than KSF winning are really slim. That being said, if LTA really wants a fleet renewal, they may opt for another company.

The tender amount of CR151 is out, Alstom bid the lowest while Kawasaki-CRRC bid the highest.

The amount for Kawasaki-CRRC bid is high, nearly 1 billion mark.

Seems Like KSF is super confident that LTA will award the tender to them. Whooping up a 999 Million deal. Even the alternative offer at 884 Million is more expensive than any other builder. Maybe for once LTA will not award to KSF

If not for KSF, CAF and Hyundai Rotem, most likely for Alstom vs Bombardier as both have experience for NE/CCL and DTL respectively, especially the former.

But i hope to see the changes on NSEWL.

Why hasn't LTA considered driverless trains, since the NSEWL has been resignalled to CBTC.

So whats the point of driverless if drivers are still deployed?
