Will BPLRT and SKPGLRT  have HHPSDs in future???Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
Post your comments here!
Personally, I feel that it should have HHPSDs as there were a lot of accidents that happen on the lrt too...but if you look it from another point of view, the government may just leave the stations as it is as they would want to save money...Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
Anyway, I hope that BPLRT and SKPGLRT will have HHPSDs!!!Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

BPLRT: The platforms, save for CCK, are all side platforms. If one person jump onto the tracks, there are passengers on both platforms who can see that there is someone on the rail. If nobody thinks that is a problem, I'm officially disappointed in Singaporeans.

SKPGLRT: Maybe.

On a whole: Unlikely. LRTs don't enter platforms at 30-40 km/h, so chances are its a lot safer than MRTs since the impact is a lot softer.

Also, most of the incidents on the LRT have more to do with system glitches than human incidents. So, no, because our government has this habit of not doing anything until the incident has happened? How do you think they decide to build the HHPSDs? Prior to that everybody jump onto the tracks, so after that they build the HHPSDs for safety reasons...

But the LRT system has a shorter history than MRT, so there is a possibility that it is as dangerous...Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
Anyway, it is best to install HHPSDs before something really bad happens in the future!!!Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Tell me how many suicide cases are there on the LRT then compared to the MRT. If you've noticed, most of the LRT disruptions are more of system glitches (such as trains stalling between stations) than human incidents.

you are right... LRT has system glitches... then LTA should upgrade the system!

HHPSDS... well... they should be installed. in case someone at Bukit Panjang loses everything, go LRT, commit suicide, what happen?

Just in case residents living near the LRT Stations are feeling heartbroken and go rush to the LRT, see the train come, jump down the tracks.

So... in the future, I agree with gs97, to hope that LTA will install HHPSDS in every single LRT Station in Singapore in the future. I don't care whether Westinghouse or whatever brand installs the HHPSDS, just get it done.
