SMRT's logo update
SMRT seem to have updated their new logo very very recently, and it looks quite unusual to many, including me.

New logo:

What are your opinions on the change?

My opinions are that it does indeed look unusual and weird for now, as the they removed the separation between the 'SMRT' word and the logo,

I think it's quite recently that they switched over from the black and red logo to the current full red logo.

It's hard to get used to after seeing the gap for years till its absence.

I still preferring the older version one with red and black on it(but no white straight line on it), but with the new symbol which gaps close.

They changed the logo maybe something to do with fengshui?

Preferred the Old red Logo.
How does removing a strip in the middle of the SMRT letters change anything? HAHA

It removes a break between the words, hence means its one SMRT and not two sides.

Also means removing break (downs)

That actually makes sense for some reason, for some reason I have a feeling that the change is due to fengshui :S

Even the roundel design has also been updated. Perhaps it could also be due to the influrnce of fengshui.

This logo change I personally feel it's for practical reasons.

Since they closed up those gaps, notice that there are lesser pieces that make up the logo? That's going to make decaling the exterior much more simpler and perhaps cost saving with lesser pieces to prepare per logo
i guess like their new train, the new design is going to be weird to get used to... but then the daily commuters don't care anyway... Sad

In the new Era of transport, nothing has changed, at least visibly. Disruption still a regular, and perhaps the bus is slow and safe...
It's still puzzling as to why the new SMRT logo (Red, no gaps) isn't as widespread as the red ones with gaps.

I'm assuming that, widespread meaning why it isn't rolled out on many places: Money and Resources.

Although most SMRT buses have that new logo already.

SMRT trains however, will only get the new logo when it undergoes the livery update.
