SBS Transit fully supports the recommendations made by the Public Transport Security Committee in its review of security measures for the public transport network.

The safety and security of our passengers is of paramount importance to us. To this end, we have put in place stringent security measures and procedures. In fact, since June 2010, SBS Transit has further enhanced its security measures.

Enhancements that have been made include a 20% increase in security guards at our train and bus depots as well as stepped up the frequency of their patrols around the premises. In addition, more lights have been added to the depots to make it harder for intruders to go undetected. More CCTV cameras have also been installed at the depots and interchanges.

We have also replaced the perimeter fencing of our bus depots with steel welded mesh, making it more difficult for trespassers to climb over or cut through. Our train depots already came equipped with steel welded mesh fencing.

We will continue in our efforts to further strengthen our security standards including exploring more high technology solutions such as a fence intrusion detection system to complement our current efforts.
